Julie Fowlis – 5 July 2013

Julie Fowlis - 1

Scottish Gaelic

Julie Fowlis was brought up in a Gaelic-speaking community on North Uist in Scotland’s Outer Hebrides.  Involved in singing, piping, and dancing since she was a child, Julie formally studied traditional Scottish music at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig the Gaelic-language college on the Isle of Skye.

Here, Julie sings the traditional song, Hùg Air A’ Bhonaid Mhòir.

By popular demand we’ve added another Julie Fowlis musical video. Here, Julie sings Oganaich Uir A Rinn M’fhagail.

Here Julie sings Biodh an Deoch

And lovely again singing Tha Mo Ghaol Air Aird A’ Chuain. What a voice.
