Change in Schedule and Location for Baltimore Gaelic Classes

Gaelic study group Feb. 2015

Càirdean,

The Gaelic class in Baltimore has really grown, which means we have outgrown our customary meeting place at Liam Flynn’s Alehouse .  However, Liam, who is also a member of the class, has arranged for us to use a room at Red Emma’s bookstore and coffeeshop just down the block at 30 W. North Avenue. It’s a great space in a great shop that will not cause anyone any extra travel.  And, of course,we encourage you to still stop off at Liam’s at 22 W. North Avenue for a pint, some food, and some study before or after the class.

So, a comfortable space on the same block, but the schedule for useof the room requires us to change from Wednesdays to Thursdays.

THEREFORE, THE NEXT GAELIC CLASS IN BALTIMORE IS ON:
Thursday, 26 February 2015
7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Red Emma’s
30. W. North Avenue Baltimore, Maryland $10 per class
The text we will be using is Teach Yourself Complete Gaelic by Boyd Robertson and Iain Taylor  If you do not have the text yet and want to attend, don’t worry about the book, just come!

Caitlín Nic Gabhann & Ciarán Ó Maonaigh are in the area this month!

St. Patrick's Day Celtic Sojourn 2014

Càirdean,

Two great Irish traditional musicians are coming to the Maryland area this month. Caitlín Nic Gabhann and Ciarán Ó Maonaigh are exciting musicians on their own. Together they are particularly dynamic.

Caitlin has won the All-Ireland championships three times on the concertina, and is also an accomplished stepdancer, touring the world with Riverdance.

Ciarán Ó Maonaigh is a fiddle player from Gaoth Dobhair, County Donegal. A grandson of Proinsias Ó Maonaigh (a.k.a. Francie Mooney), and nephew of Mairead Ni Maonaigh of Altan, he was the 2003 TG4 Young Traditional Musician of the Year.

Caitlín and Ciarán have three shows in our general area.

They will be at a house concert in Baltimore, Maryland on 24 February:
